There is a lot to be said for the high quality of life of small-town USA, but there is also a lot to be said for the high quality of conducting business in a small town, especially when that small town offers many of the advantages of larger cities. Great retail amenities, entertainment, education, recreation, medical facilities, and weather all combine to make Brownwood a terrific place to live. Brownwood’s slogan is “Feels Like Home”.
Just because Brownwood is a “Small Town” does not mean there is not anything to do. In fact, the area is loaded with recreational and entertainment activities.
Brownwood’s education system is second to none, including public and private K-12 schools, all the way up to obtaining an associate degree from Ranger College or bachelor’s degrees through Howard Payne University.
Nearby is Lake Brownwood, a 7,300 surface acre lake. This lake provides excellent fishing for bass, crappie, and catfish. There is also boating, jet skiing, and more. Lake Brownwood is home to the Lake Brownwood State Park that offers camping, cabins, hiking trails, and fishing docks.
